PANOPTICON GRANTED SUPPORT

The Freedom of Expression Foundation in Oslo in November 2004 granted Panopticon financial support for the documentary "The Future of Water". Panopticon was one out of eight projects that were found qualified for funding.

The Foundation granted 600 000 NOK (about 100 000 USD) to Panopticon and the documentary "The Future of Water". Among 101 applications, eight production companies were granted a total of 12 million NOK (around 2 million USD).

The Foundation granted this financial support to the production of TV documentaries to mark its 30th anniversary. The Freedom of Expression Foundation was established in 1974 to promote freedom of expression and democratic progress in Norwegian cultural and community life.

"The Future of Water" has previously been granted financial support from the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, from The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and from The Norwegian Research Council, among others.

Panopticon cooperates with the Center for Development Studies at the University of Bergen in the production of "The Future of Water"
